Artisan Whole Grain Baking Camp - September 15-17


Freshly milled grains are a game changer.  Would you like to learn to add flavor and the health benefits of freshly milled whole grains, while creating delicious, flavorful items that your family will actually devour?!  First we discuss the importance of using whole grains and how they impact health and flavor.  We talk about different types of mills and grains and then jump right in with milling for our day’s baking.   We learn a variety of recipes, along with practicing great baking skills by making Scones, Cookies and Quick Breads.  We also learn to make crackers and Muffins.  We enjoy Wholegrain Pancakes for breakfast, Pie crust for a quiche for lunch, and hone our skills with both a whole wheat sourdough bread and whole wheat yeasted bread, as well as the essential skills for Biscuits.  We discuss how to create a CSB (Community Supported Bakery) based on Whole Grains, as well as how to organize your recipes, pricing and recipe creation.
